چکیده

Methods We included studies published up to August 2011 which compared a food-based maternal dietary intervention (intake during pregnancy &/or lactation) with another intervention or no intervention, as well as studies examining associations between maternal dietary intake during pregnancy &/or lactation and allergic outcomes in their children from the index pregnancy. Primary outcomes included child eczema, asthma, hayfever and sensitization (to food or environmental allergens). Studies assessing dietary supplements were not eligible for inclusion, nor were studies where dietary intakes were expressed only in terms of nutrients. Studies exclusively investigating maternal nut and peanut consumption during pregnancy &/or lactation were excluded.

Dietary Proteins, Developmental Programming, and Potential Implication in Maternal Obesity

Background: Proteins are known mainly based on their metabolic and nutritional functions including protein synthesis and a source of energy. In spite of various physiological properties attributed to proteins, their functions have neither been addressed by assessing quality of proteins nor by nutrition and dietetic practices. Methods: Studies were included if they were randomized animal studies...

A maternal 'junk food' diet in pregnancy and lactation promotes an exacerbated taste for 'junk food' and a greater propensity for obesity in rat offspring.

Obesity is generally associated with high intake of junk foods rich in energy, fat, sugar and salt combined with a dysfunctional control of appetite and lack of exercise. There is some evidence to suggest that appetite and body mass can be influenced by maternal food intake during the fetal and suckling life of an individual. However, the influence of a maternal junk food diet during pregnancy ...

Maternal dietary folate, folic acid and vitamin D intakes during pregnancy and lactation and the risk of cows' milk allergy in the offspring.

Maternal nutrient intake during pregnancy and lactation potentially influences the development of allergic diseases. Cows' milk allergy (CMA) is often the first manifestation of atopic diseases, but the impact of early nutritional influences on CMA has not been explored. The associations between maternal intakes of folate, folic acid and vitamin D during pregnancy and lactation were addressed i...

Protective effects of troxerutin on maternal high-fat diet-induced impairments of spatial memory and apelin in the male offspring

Objective(s): Maternal high-fat diet (HFD) is linked with metabolic and cognitive deficits in offspring. Neuroprotective effects of troxerutin, a natural bioflavonoid, have been reported recently. This study aimed to investigate the effects of troxerutin on spatial memory and serum and hippocampal apelin levels in the male offspring of HFD fed mothers.Materials and Methods: Three-week-old femal...
